Guiliani wrong, according to Patrol Guide

As usual Mayor Giuliani and his latest puppet-like Police Commissioner are disinfroming the media and the public on a basic issue of law. Not only does First Amendment caselaw itself demonstrate that cursing at a police officer is protected speech but the NYPD Patrol Guide-the police department "bible" listing exactly what NYC police officers can and cannot do-specifically states that the police MAY NOT arrest someone for asking questions, criticizing or cursing at a police officer. Judge Carol Edmead's Dec. 22 ruling is entirely consonate with the directive in the Patrol Guide.

In the course of defending myself against charges in one of my 41 false arrests since Giuliani became Mayor my attorney obtained a copy of the Patrol Guide as part of the discovery process. The directive is written in unambiguous terms which both Giuliani and Commissioner Kerick are well-aware totally contradict their baseless attack on the judge.

Will anyone in the mainstream media bother to ask for a copy of the Patrol Guide and call them on this latest lie or will Mayor Giuliani be permitted to continue to disinform the public about the laws of this City?
